GUIDELINES FOR RESOURCE FAIR

"CAN I SWITCH MY TABLE?" No switching tables. If caught switching tables or taking another organization’s table you will be asked to move and cannot table at next orientation. Cannot table unless you are signed up for that day of orientation

"WHEN CAN I BEGIN TABLING?" Please arrive 30 minutes before the Resource Fair begins to give yourself time to check-in & set-up. You may only table in the union/ at the campus resource fair. Please do not walk around campus during orientation trying to promote. If caught you will be asked to leave orientation.

"HOW MANY PEOPLE SHOULD I HAVE AT MY TABLE?" Please have at least TWO members of your org at your booth at all times. We will not be responsible for anything that goes missing from your booth if you leave it unattended. You will be assigned a different table at each orientation on a rotation. No exceptions.

"CAN MY CLUB/ORG HANDOUT STUFF WHILE TABLING?" If handing out flyers or souvenirs please let us know beforehand. (I.e. submit copy of flier beforehand) If handing out food please have a garbage bag on hand for trash. If anyone is caught leaving excessive trash when the fair ends your org will be fined. Please respect the space and keep the union clean.

"WHAT IF I GET HUNGRY?" Pack a snack & plenty of water! You may not ask any O-Team Leaders (friend or not!) for a food ticket Do NOT go up to the lunch stations and take food for yourselves or friends.* *IF there is extra food at the end, the Orientation Coordinator or Student Life Director may offer for you to grab food then. This will occur no earlier that 12:50PM.

"WHAT IF MY CLUB/ORG WOULD LIKE TO HAVE ACTIVITIES FOR THE INCOMING STUDENTS TO PART- TAKE IN?" Any games or activities you have in mind please keep them on the back lawn. Do not block the pathway.

"WHAT IF MY CLUB/ORG PLAYS WATER-PONG?" Unless you are UPD or PAW no references to alcohol or drugs can be present at the booths. Any games hinting at drug or alcohol use will immediately be removed and that org will be asked to leave. No pictures promoting any of the above as well as no paddles due to the connotations it provides.

"HOW CAN MY CLUB/ORG BE RECOGNIZED AT THE RESOURCE FAIR?" We will be doing shout outs throughout the fair, but only by sign ups.

"ARE ANIMALS ALLOWED?" Pets of any kind are not allowed. If you or a member of your organization brings a pet, we will request that the pet and owner leave due to safety & health concerns. Please don’t bore me with your recruitment activities. Leave me at home in the cool shade and a doggie biscuit

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN TABLING

Be interactive! Have games or music or handouts. Don't sit behind the table with friends or texting. Implement the triangle method. Talk about the campus and events your org is apart of. NO PARTIES. Interact with Parents as well as students.

Don't interrupt them if students and parents are trying to eat. Please stay out of off limit zones. Promote CSUEB Smile, Stay Positive Keep in mind this is still an orientation event so if they have to go please don’t keep them.

See you all at Orientation! :)
