METAMORA FLAMES “Open Participation Softball Clinics” To help girls achieve the next level FREE FREE Dates: Monday, August 1st – 6:00 – 8:00 Tuesday, August 2nd – 6:00 – 8:00 Wednesday, August 3rd – 6:00 – 8:00 FREE Location for all clinics will be held at the Metamora High School Fields

METAMORA FLAMES TRYOUTS FOR 2012 SUMMER SEASON WHEN: August 7th and August 14th 10U – 12:00 – 2:00 – Pitchers and Catchers required to stay an additional 30 minutes after 12U – 2:00 – 4:00 – Pitchers and Catchers required to stay an additional 30 minutes after 14U – 4:00 – 6:00 – Pitchers and Catchers required to stay an additional 30 minutes after 16U and 18U – 6:00 – 8:00 Location: Metamora High School Fields * Note: See Details for Age Groups on next slide

Team Availability/Expectations 10U – Must be 10 or under as of January 1st to be eligible to play the following summer. At 10U a player can expect to play approximately 25 – 40 games in a season (depending upon how the team performs in a tournament). This is made up of approximately 10-15 game nights (double header each night) and 3-4 tournaments with most tournaments consisting of a 3 game minimum. Practices typically start in/or about January one time a week. Once the season starts there may be additional practices scheduled. This is completely up to the coach and the teams expectations. A player will learn the basic fundamentals and begin to understand the concepts of “true” softball verses the in-house concept. This will help propel players to the next level of travel softball. (Some players will be eligible after 10U to tryout for their Jr. High School softball teams) 12U – Must be 12 or under as of January 1st to be eligible to play the following summer. At 12U a player can expect to play approximately 35 – 50 games in a season (depending upon how the team performs in a tournament). This is made up of approximately 10-15 game nights (double header each night) and 4-5 tournaments with most tournaments consisting of a 3 game minimum. Practices typically start in/or about January one time a week. Once the season starts there may be additional practices scheduled. This is completely up to the coach and the teams expectations. A player will continue to learn the basic fundamentals and begin her knowledge of “true” softball should be much clearer than at 10U. This will help propel players to the next level and help them in Jr. High School Softball. 14U – Must be 14 or under as of January 1st to be eligible to play the following summer. At 14U a player can expect to play approximately 40 – 60 games in a season (depending upon how the team performs in a tournament and what the coach schedules). This is made up of approximately 10-15 game nights (double header each night) and 5-6 tournaments with most tournaments consisting of a 3 game minimum. Practices typically start in/or about January one time a week. If a player is in high school they cannot practice once the High School season “officially starts”. Once the high school season ends and the player has been released and the summer season starts there may be additional practices scheduled. This is completely up to the coach and the teams expectations. A player will continue to learn fundamentals and should have a very good understanding of “true” softball. At this level, teams should be able to compete at a higher caliber of softball This will help propel players to the next level. 16U – Must be 16 or under as of January 1st to be eligible to play the following summer. At 16U a player can expect to play approximately 30 – 60 games in a season (depending upon how the team performs in a tournament and what the coach schedules). This is made up of approximately 6-12 game nights (double header each night) and 5-6 tournaments with most tournaments consisting of a 3 game minimum. Practices typically start in/or about January one time a week. Players on a high school team cannot practice once the High School season “officially starts”. Once the high school season ends and the player has been released and the summer season starts there may be additional practices scheduled. This is made up of approximately 4-12 game nights (double header each night) and 5-8 tournaments with most tournaments consisting of a 3 game minimum. Once the high school season ends and the player has been released and the summer season starts there may be additional practices scheduled.
