T-1 Assessment Planning: Issue: We were originally given such a short notice (one month) of the possibility of competing in the Norwegian Foot March. Discussion: Due to such a short suspense, our training time was severely reduced, which hindered us from reaching our full potential in securing a record time for completing 18.6 miles. Recommendation: We will begin planning in January, and begin training early next year in order to bring multiple teams to participate and achieve better results in November (2014). Preparation: Issue: While we were prepared to complete the 18.6 mile distance in 4:09 (twenty-one minutes under the standard of 4:30), our time could have been drastically reduced if we trained well ahead of time. Discussion: Our training capacity was reduced due to such a short suspense, which slowed down our completion time as a result. Recommendation: I recommend that we begin training well ahead of time—at least three months before the actual event next November.
