Presentation transcript:

Online Listing Traffic Reports Begin This Week As a benefit of being an HAR MLS subscriber, all brokers and agents with active listings will begin receiving online traffic reports. These reports will be sent directly from ListHub and will display the number of detailed listing views and leads from HAR.com, Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com and Homes.com. Realogy brokers and agents will need to log in to their franchise’s dashboard to obtain complete numbers due to Realogy’s agreement with Zillow, Trulia and Homes.com that the franchise feed supercedes the MLS feed. The first reports to brokers were delivered to the designated representative of each firm on Monday, and the agent reports will be delivered this Wednesday, October 22. After this week’s distribution schedule, all of the online traffic reports will be sent to both brokers and agents every Monday thereafter.

The Vote is on for November 4 General Elections The 2014 Texas general elections have begun, and The REALTOR® Party wants you to be informed when going to the polls. Some of the candidates selected during this election will be heading to Austin for the legislative session, some will be heading to Washington, and some will be leading our local city councils and commissioners courts. With this much at stake, we need to make sure the Texas REALTOR® voice is heard. Early Voting: Monday, October 20 - Friday, October 31 (polls times vary) Election Day: Tuesday, November 4 (polls open 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.) Go to to see the full lineup of HAR and TAR recommended candidates.

Proposition 1: What You Need to Know On Tuesday, November 4, Texans have the opportunity to address the state’s growing transportation-funding problem by voting yes on Proposition 1. What is Proposition 1? Proposition 1 is a statewide ballot measure that would direct the Texas Comptroller to credit part of proceeds from the oil and gas severance tax to the State Highway Fund. These funds could be used only for acquiring rights-of-way, constructing, and maintaining public (non-tolled) roads. Proposition 1 is money for non-tolled roadways with no new taxes and no new debt. Proposition 1 will help: Make Texas roadways safer Ease congestion Reduce wear and tear Lessen the state’s reliance on debt For more information, go to

Weekly HAR Market Stat As we turn toward the final and typically quietest quarter of the year, it is easy to wonder if we are destined to lose the stability that we have worked hard for throughout the U.S. However, gloomy considerations are readily put aside after considering a recent investigation by the International Monetary Fund into the real estate markets of other countries. It turns out that our national housing price-to-income ratio is fairly conservative. At this rate, we will soon stop talking about the process of housing recovery and just call it recovered. In the Houston region, for the week ending October 12: New Listings increased 2.5% to 1,987 Pending Sales increased 16.7% to 1,690 Closed Sales decreased 2.0% to 1,213
