Novel Ideas  Everybody, get a piece of paper!  You are going to copy what you see in the next transparency.  You will have 3 minutes to brainstorm and write down together possible responses to the question posed.  After one teammate offers an idea, someone else seconds it and everybody writes down the idea.  The papers of each group member must have exactly the same information

Novel Ideas - 2 We think the poem “The Hardest Part of Love” may be about:

Academic Language and Content Chart  I will say the underlined word.  You will repeat the word out loud.  We will read aloud the sentence that uses the term.  Read the sentence and term again and develop a beginning definition of the word.

Mind Mirror   In groups, you are now going to collaboratively create a mind mirror for 1 of the two characters in the song, “The Hardest Part of Love”   The Mind Mirror should show the character’s situation, thoughts, concerns, wishes, dreams, or dilemmas.   To present the character’s state of mind your Mind Mirror should contain at least: – –Two quotes from the song properly marked with quotation marks. – –Two original phrases created by your group about the character that fits the circumstances of the song. – –Two symbols that relate to the song and the character’s situation. – –Two relevant drawings.
