Report on the Humanitarian Situation of the affected people by Typhoon Haiyan Philippines – November 2013 ICHAD - OIC Humanitarian Situation till 25/11/2013 -Stated figures in this report are changing due to the ongoing verification/validation. -Stated fugues in this report are collected from UN agencies, Philippines government, OIC delegation and International and Islamic humanitarian organizations.

Philippines in Numbers 92 million total population of the Philippines (2010). 300,000 km 2 is total area of Philippines. 27.9% of the population fell below the poverty line (2012).

What Happened?? Typhoon Haiyan (locally known as Yolanda) hits 9 regions in Philippines, inhabited by 50 million people, equivalent to 54% of total population of the Philippines.

Affected Regions by Typhoon Haiyan Regions VIII (Eastern Visayas), VI (Western Visayas) and VII (Central Visayas) are hardest hit, according to current information. Regions IV-A (CALABARZON), IV-B (MIMAROPA), V (Bicol), X (Northern Mindanao), XI (Davao) and XIII (Caraga) were also affected.

Health Problems Infra structure of the hospitals are highly affected. There is shortage in medical supplies. There is need for treatment capacity for TB, acute respiratory infections, dog bites, and wounds related to reconstruction.
