Consumption Expansion and Expo Frontline Service in 2009

1 、 Promoting Social Consumption Programs to benefit the people including Home Appliances to the Countryside, Trade in Old Appliances for New and Cash for Clunkers have been carried out,which achieved sales of 75,000 home appliances, or RMB 180 million; 750 thousand new appliances worth of RMB 3 billion and 4358 cars, or RMB 828 million, respectively. By seizing the opportunity of World Expo, sales promotion of various themes were launched Shanghai Shopping Festival was held successfully with 509 events organized. Meanwhile, domestic markets was further expanded by setting up information platform connecting domestic and foreign trading companies, as well as ordering platform and sales platform.

2 、 Stepping up market control Efforts have been made to improve the supply system of staple and non-staple food by encouraging major wholesaling markets to partner with over a thousand of farm produce and non-staple food production bases. We have strengthened food security monitoring by establishing 120 standard food markets and putting in place the food security information inquiry system for standard food markets as a municipal program to benefit the people.

3 、 Promoting the service industry To strengthen the policy guidance, we formulated and publicized the Guideline of Promoting Shanghai’s Service Industry from 2009 to To foster carriers, we have launched 20 clusters for modern service industry. During the 11th Five-year-period, we will invest RMB 100 billion to build another 10 million m 2 of floor space. Accelerate the modern logistics, professional services and e-commerce.
