Are You in the Ship With the Savior? Luke 8:22-25
Introductory Thoughts Text indicates that the disciples had forgotten that the Savior was with them We are perishing!!! Where is your faith? Does your faith put you in the ship with the Savior? The Bible describes many ships that one must be in in order to be “In the Ship with the Savior”
Relationship Do you have a relationship with the Savior? How does the relationship happen? Hearing the Word Matthew 17:5 Develop an obedient faith John 8:24 – Matthew 7:21 – Hebrews 11:6 Repent of the sin in your life Luke 13:1-5 – Acts 2:38 – Acts 3:19 Confess the name of Jesus Matthew 10:32-33 – Romans 10:9-10 Be Baptized into his Name Mark 16:15-15 – Acts 2:38
Fellowship Once the relationship is established we enjoy fellowship with the Savior Fellowship with the Savior must be maintained 1 John 1:3-7 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 We are either in the fellowship or out of the fellowship
Friendship In order to maintain the fellowship we must develop a friendship with the Savior How is friendship exemplified John 15:10-14 James 4:4 Are you a true friend of the Savior?
Membership Entering the relationship also gives us membership in His Church Membership means we will do our part in the kingdom 1 Corinthians 12:12-20 Ephesians 4:11-16 As members of His body we are able to enjoy the benefits of fellowship Placing your membership in a local body helps facilitate the fellowship
Workmanship Closely related to membership Due to the fact there is work to be done Ephesians 2:8-10 Matthew 21:28-31 Matthew 25:34-46 Galatians 6:10 Are you doing the work that needs to be done?
Craftsmanship Not just workers, but skilled at our craft Developing a skill requires extra effort 2 Timothy 2:15 2 Timothy 2:1-5 2 Peter 1:2-12 Are you striving for mastery in your Christian walk?
Battleship The skills we develop will help us as we battle Satan and his army The battle will come Jude 3 1 Timothy 6:12 1 Peter 3:15 Are you prepared for the battle? Can we win the battle?
Concluding Thoughts What would have been the result if the disciples had bailed out of the ship? As Christians we must recognize that we must stay “In the Ship With the Savior” if we are to obtain eternal life Are You in the Ship With the Savior Today?
