PTM Conference the urgency & importance of caring for cross cultural workers Day 3

PSALM 1: Blessed is the one who… delights in the law of the Lord, who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

Abide in me, as I also abide in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must abide in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you abide in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:4-5 “In the beginning was the Word & the Word was with God & the Word was God.”

"But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.” Luke 6:27 How is this passage, at its center about my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ?

"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money." Matthew 6:24 How is this passage, at its center about my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ?

“… keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back… If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.” Mark 13:35-36 How is this passage, at its center about my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ?

As you think about your next opportunity to share the Word (in public teaching or private conversation) – what are the implications of this for you? How is this passage, at its center about my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ?

Matt 20:26-28 …whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave -- just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.“ John 13:14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. John 13:34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

Rom 15:2-3 Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: "The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me." Rom 15:7 Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God. Eph 4:32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you 1 Peter 2:20-21 …if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

This action or attitude or character or intentional hardship or ??? to which I’m called, how has Jesus done it first for me?

akes it Normal odels God’s Way elts our Hearts otivates us to want what God wants powers us to follow Him

What is one of the tough things you yourself must do which is part of your call, the life God has for you right now? How has Jesus done it first for you?

"I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, for whatever the Father does the Son also does." John 5:19
