The Great Day of Pentecost Great Savior Proclaimed 1.Jesus had advised the apostles to keep the fact that He was the Christ quiet until “the Son of Man is raised from the dead.” (Matthew 17:9) 2.Now, on the Day of Pentecost, Peter and the others boldly proclaim that Jesus is the Christ, the Savior of all men. The Lift of Christ (2:22) The Sacrifice of Christ (2:23, 36) The Burial of Christ. The Resurrection of Christ. –He had power over death. (2:24) –He fulfilled the promise made to David. (2:25-28) Jesus is now Lord and King! (2:34-36)

The Great Day of Pentecost Great Message Revealed 1.The Reaction of some Jews: “Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, ‘Brethren, what shall we do.’” (2:37) 2.Peter’s response is the great message of the gospel! “And Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to him.” (2:37-38)

The Great Day of Pentecost Great Gift Received “So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.” (2:41) “And Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” (2:47)
