Do now : Take out a sheet of loose leaf paper and a writing utensil and answer the question below with an explanation to follow. – “ Your in my head like a song on the radio” 1)Identify the type of figurative language used in the verse above. 2) Explain why your answer is your answer. 3) When done, sit quietly. METAPHOR- a direct comparrison. A metaphor does not use like or as.

Simile - comparing using like or as. Examples: “ My tears run down like roller blades” – Its not over, secondhand serenade(0:11) “ Life’s like a novel with the end ripped out “ – Stand, Rascal Flatts(1:02)

Alitteration- Repeats same sound at the beginning of word. Examples :

Onomonepeia- A sound that sounds like the word its describing. Examples:
