HOW YOU AS A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL CAN BE AN ADVOCATE FOR FAMILIES OF PATIENTS WITH MENTAL ILLNESSES

MENTAL ILLNESS HAS SUCH AN AWFUL STIGMA THAT NO ONE WANTS TO THINK ABOUT IT UNTIL THEY HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER WHO BECOMES MENTALLY ILL

THE NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON MENTAL ILLNESS NAMI was founded in Since that time, NAMI has grown into the foremost national advocacy organization for persons living with mental illness, and their families. Over the years this revolutionary grassroots movement has significantly influenced research and treatment policies made at the highest levels of national government, and the NAMI Affiliates have provided a haven of support and understanding for thousands of family members seeking to help their loved ones.
