Triumph in Adversity! Have the faith of a Gentile woman named Ruth.

Chose God – put Him first in her Life!  Ruth 1:7-18 She chose God. She had to sacrifice. The most important decision....

Most important decision One of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, "What commandment is the foremost of all?“ 29 Jesus answered, "The foremost is, `HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD; 30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.‘ (Mk. 12:28-30)

17 And He said to him, "Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.“ (Matt. 19:17) Most important decision....

Did the right things, had a good reputation!  What did she do? Blessings... ? 2:1-3 Gleaned. 2:7 Polite, worked hard. 2:14 Ate w/ workers, took food home. 2:15 Glean around the sheaves. 2:16 Workers left some barley behind. 2:21-22 Protected by Boaz, servants.

 What did she do? Blessings... ?  Why was Boaz favorable toward her? 2:8-11 Good reputation. 2:12 Blessings from God. 2:14, Charitable. Did the right things, had a good reputation!

 What did she do? Blessings... ?  Why was Boaz favorable toward her?  A good reputation is valuable. Pr. 22:1 Better than great wealth. Ec. 7:1 Better than great medicine. Did the right things, had a good reputation!

Valuable reputation A good name is to be more desired than great wealth, Favor is better than silver and gold. (Pr. 22:1) 1 A good name is better than a good ointment..., (Ec. 7:1)

 What did she do? Blessings... ?  Why was Boaz favorable toward her?  A good reputation is valuable. Pr. 22:1 Better than great wealth. Ec. 7:1 Better than great medicine. Did the right things, had a good reputation!

She was virtuous – excellent!  Ruth 3:1-11 Her virtuous character.  The faithful are virtuous. Ruth. Boaz. Joseph. Rahab.  Christians must be virtuous.

Virtuous, moral excellence: 5 Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, 6 and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, 7 and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. (2 Pet. 1:5-7)

10 Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; 11 for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.
