S1/2 Home Study Whilst you are off school it is important to continue developing your creative skills and be inspired by the weather. Tasks to do - Task 1 - Photo competition If the weather permits and it is safe to do so, go outside and take some photos of the of the landscape and objects or people in the environment. Or take a picture of the view from a window. Or instead of taking a photo, make a drawing or painting of something interesting you see. Think about finding something that has been changed by the snow and the different light that occurs due to the wintery conditions. Here are some examples of how Artists have been inspired and used the theme of snow creatively - Bring your photo printed out or on a pen drive to school when we return and you could win a prize for the best photo or drawing. Always take care when outside in these conditions and take advice from your parent or guardian. Here an artist created big snowballs and carved them out with thick and thin areas. The artist has thought carefully about where to position them in the bright winter light to create a great effect. Think about how people and animals interact with the snow. Monet was inspired by the beautiful yellow light that happens in winter and the blue shadows it creates. Here Brugel has shown the interesting contrast between the dark figures and trees with the large white areas of snow.
