HCC is the statutory Minerals and Waste Planning Authority, and decides all planning applications on minerals and waste issues across Hampshire. Manages all the County Council’s own planning applications for schools and its own estate. Responds to major national and local schemes to ensure Hampshire gets the infrastructure it needs, Planning, managing and collecting the contributions by developers for infrastructure which is needed to support the community. Planning has a net revenue cost of £1.2 million Planning for appropriate development and necessary infrastructure

Building a more resilient environment, whilst protecting the natural character of Hampshire The County Council is the Lead Local Flood Authority for Hampshire 86% of Hampshire is rural with one third within a national park or an area of outstanding natural beauty. Specialist environmental services help maintain and improve the unique character of Hampshire’s environment, such as ecology and archaeology. We generate income from selling these services to other organisations. Our net revenue expenditure is £0.6 million.
