Setting This book doesn’t have one setting. It has many. The book does have one main setting though. The story is mainly in Manhattan, New York. Then the story later on also takes place in St. Louis and LA. Percy lives with his mom at Manhattan, but during the school he goes to a boarding school in New York. Annabeth lived at Camp Half-Blood for most of her life. Grover practically lives at Camp Half-Blood. This story takes place in the modern times.

Characters Percy Jackson- He has black hair and green eyes. He is nice but can also act like he doesn’t know anything sometimes. Even though he is like that, he is brave. Exact opposite of Grover. He is defensive of Grover though. Annabeth Chase- She has blonde curly hair and gray eyes. She is smart and clever. She always has a plan for everything. She doesn’t really like Percy in this book. Grover Underwood- He usually wears a Rasta cap and also wears sneakers most of the time. He has a goatee and has brown hair. He is scrawny and is usually bullied too. He is also scared of a lot of things. He isn’t very brave like Percy. Luke Castellan-Luke has sandy blonde hair. All the girls in the book says that he has good looks. He has a mischievous smile. His personality was nice at first but then he turned out to be a traitor.

Plot-Conflict The conflict in the story is that the lightning bolt has been stolen. The lightning bolt is Zeus’ symbol of power. Zeus thinks Percy Jackson has stolen his bolt. Percy knows hat Zeus is wrong because he didn’t steal the lightning bolt. He knows that he has to retrieve it otherwise the Gods of Olympus will get into a big war.

Plot-Resolution Percy with the help of his friends Annabeth and Grover go through a big journey to retrieve the bolt and to prove that he is innocent.

My Opinion In the beginning of the book I thought it was boring, so I stopped reading the book. The later I tried to read the book again and after the first few chapters it got really exciting! I was enjoying the book so much that I couldn’t stop reading! After that I was addicted to the whole series, I finished it too! I recommended everyone to read the entire series, you won’t regret it! It will be one of the best books you will have ever read.

5 Test Questions Who is Percy’s godly parent? Poseidon. Why do you think Luke doesn’t like his dad? Maybe because his dad abandoned him when he was little, or maybe even said something or did something to him that was hurt full. Who actually stole the lightning bolt? Luke did. Why did Luke steal the lightning bolt? He stole it so he could get the gods into a fight, because he doesn’t like the gods. He also did it because Kronos talked him into doing it. What do you think is going to happen in the next book? I think that Luke will keep on doing things for Kronos. Then Percy and Annabeth will convince Luke finally that Kronos is a bad person. Luke will maybe then get revenge on Kronos and destroy him before he can get out of Tartarus.

Summary Percy Jackson just discovered that he is a demigod. A demigod is half-god and half-human. His father is Poseidon, the Greek god of the seas and his mom is just a regular mortal. He also learns that the God Zeus, god of the gods, has accused Percy of stealing his lightning bolt which is Zeus’ symbol. Percy knows that he didn’t steal the lightning bolt. Grover, his best friend, tells him that the gods are going to get in a war unless the bolt is found. Percy, Grover, and Annabeth go on an adventure where they finally locate the lightning bolt. Now the question is, who stole it? Luke one of Percy’s ex-friends now, did technically. Percy gives Zeus the lightning bolt back and tells Zeus that he didn’t steal it. Zeus after some time, decides that Percy didn’t steal the bolt and thanks Percy, Annabeth, and Grover for returning the bolt back to him.
