JANUARY SAFETY MEETING “ Parkwood II Emergency Procedure”

Responsibilities  Employees: In the event of a fire, employee shall activate the manual fire alarm located by each stairwell; notify the fire department by dialing If it is a small contained fire the employee should try to extinguish the fire if qualified and trained to use a fire extinguisher. Once an alarm is sounded employees will close all desk drawers then exit the building immediately. Follow instruction given by the Floor and Stair Wardens.  Floor Warden’s Notify employees and non-employees to evacuate and assemble at designated assemble locations Complete a disability list Check offices, bathrooms, common areas, copy rooms, and break rooms to ensure that all employees are aware that the building is being evacuated

Responsibilities  Stair Wardens: Reporting to assigned stairwell. Checking stairwell for obstructions or dangerous conditions before opening the door. Keeping employees moving in an orderly manner to safely exit the building and prevent unauthorized re-entry. Maintaining calm and order at all times. Assisting Floor Wardens in notifying employees and non-employees to evacuate and assemble at designated assemble locations.  Headcounters: Making sure all employees are present at each respective headcounter station in the garage or at bomb threat evacuation assemble area (See Attachment 4). Have each employee in your department initial the list to document their participation in the drill/evacuation. Following the event, please send the initialed list to Emergency Plan Coordinator or the Safety Team Chairperson. Notifying a member of the Safety Team if an employee is unaccounted for. If assigned a “headcounter sign” make sure someone is holding this up while employees are being counted.

When to evacuate the building  Fire  Bomb threat  Drills or False Alarms  (The Power Transactions and Dispatch Dispatchers and the Operations PM&D Center Operators maybe exempted from scheduled drills after verifying that the alarm is associated with a drill. They will be required to review this procedure yearly)  All Parkwood personnel should either participate in a drill or review this procedure annually.

How to evacuate the building  Take the nearest stairway and/or exit out of the building.  DO NOT use the elevators.  Help any guests you are with to the nearest stairwell and/or exit. Keep them with you until you return to the building.  When in a room with multiple exits, use the one with the lighted EXIT sign above, this will lead you to the nearest exit out of the building.

Where to go and what to do  Meet in the assembly area in your designated “Headcount Station.” DO NOT stop in the courtyard area or in front of the building as you leave.  Check in with your department secretary (Headcounter) and remain in the parking garage area.  Wait for further instruction or the “All Clear” signal before re-entering the building.

All Clear Signal  A member of the Safety Committee will check with the fire department (or building manager) periodically during the evacuation time for when it is safe to return to the building.  Employees are not to leave the parking garage area until the “All Clear” signal is given. This includes the front of the building and the courtyard area.  The “All Clear” signal will be given by a member of the Safety Committee either verbally or by the sounding of a whistle.

Fire Evacuation Procedure  In the event that an actual fire employee should immediately: Pull the emergency fire alarm lever in the box located by each stairwell Notify the fire department by dialing If the fire is a small contained fire the employee should try to extinguish it if qualified and trained to use a fire extinguisher. Remember to keep yourself between your evacuation route and the fire.  Floor wardens and stair wardens will proceed to their respective assigned areas.  Floor wardens will assist in directing employees safely to the stairwells and they will check to ensure everyone has exited the floor. Floor wardens will then exit to stairwell.  Stair wardens will safely assist employees in the stairwells and out the building, and then they will exit the building.

Fire Evacuation Procedure  Employees will proceed to their assigned assembly areas:  Take the nearest stairway and/or exit out of the building.  DO NOT try to use the elevators.  Help any guests you are with to the nearest stairwell and/or exit. Keep them with you until you return to the building.  When in a room with multiple exits, use the one with the lighted EXIT sign above, this will lead you to the nearest exit out of the building.  Do not use to be accounted for by Assigned headcounters; headcounters will have roll call sheets and have employees initial it. Headcounters will give roll call sheet to PII Safety Crew chairperson.

Fire Evacuation Procedure  After the fire department has given the “All Clear” for re- entering the building, an Entergy PII safety crew member will release employees to re-enter the building.

Bomb Threat Evacuation Procedure  If you receive a bomb threat: Remain calm. Keep caller on the line as long as possible. Ask that the message be repeated. Use the Bomb Threat Card, which lists instructions/questions on how to handle a bomb threat call. Fill out the Bomb Threat Card (Yellow Card) as completely as possible. Listen closely to the caller’s voice patterns and be aware to note any background noise that may give a clue to where the call is originating. Report to their supervisor Do not pass any information to any other employees.  Supervisor should report to the Sr. VP of Fossil Gen & Sup Chain or the VP of System Planning

Bomb Threat Evacuation Procedure  The VP’s will be responsible for making all decisions and supervising the search and evacuation of the site.  If the VP’s feels a threat to personnel is genuine, he will order all employees/contractors to gather in the Bomb Threat Assembly Area, which will be away from all buildings and equipment.  Before evacuating your work area, do a quick visual search to determine if any unusual boxes, packages, etc. are present. If an instance is noted, please make your manager aware immediately.  Do not enter any buildings in route to the assembly area. Don’t go back to your work area for any reason go directly to the assembly area.  After the law officials and the fire department have given all “All Clear”, the employees will be allowed to re-enter the building.

Inclement Weather and Accidents/Medical Emergencies  Hurricanes – The Corporate Hurricane procedure will be used.  Tornadoes – In the event of a tornado, employees will be instructed to go to the center areas of the building until an “All Clear” is given.  Snow/Ice Storm – In the event of snow/ice storm employees will be alerted should an evacuation be required or needed to ensure the safety of employees.

Accident/Medical Emergency  Normal Business Hours – Should accident/medical emergencies occur at the Parkwood II building, the emergency processes will be activated should the injured person need medical assistance.  After Normal Business Hours – Shift workers in the PMD Center and Power Transactions and Dispatch shall:  Activate the 911 emergency processes.  Contact Security at extension Security shall guide medical emergency responders to the appropriate location and lend assistance as necessary.

What to do if you get stuck in the elevator  Remain calm  Use the phone inside the elevator to alert the operator that you are stuck in the elevator. You will speak two- way with a live person, not a recording.  The operator will dispatch a repair technician directly from the local elevator company they contract with.  If the repair technician is unable to get you out, steps will be taken for bringing in emergency support, such as the fire department.  The elevator phones are checked weekly by building management.
