Goals To evaluate the extent to which various social characteristics of residents in and proximate to a neighborhood affect crime counts To determine whether the street structure (configurations) have an independent effect on crime counts To assess interaction effects between social and configurational aspects of neighborhood To identify additional factors that might be accounting for hot and ‘cold’ crime spots
