User Experience Small Format (Phones, iPad Mini) Medium Format (Tablets) Large Format (PC, MAC) Accessibility/Usability: One seamless experience No software installed on the client device Eliminates time spent installing or updating software Reduces learning time Accessible from any device “Allow access to from any device without installing software, so I can still be in control even when I’m on the go.”

Mobile Features & Challenges Device agnostic - Phone, tablet, laptop Wired or on the go … laptop, Android, IOS, … any device that has a browser (IE, Chrome, Safari) Avoids disparate URLs – java, Silverlight, html Views auto adjust to size of client device w/o to much pinching and zooming More productive, learn one experience, minimize install of SW Installed and maintained, could be better if Mobile Optimized! GOOD – Mobile Optimized!

OSI Model - Open Systems Interconnection model (OSI) Information Technology (IT) Data Link Layer Activity later IEEE (basis for wireless network products using the Wi-FiWi-Fi brand)

A Word on IT Security Very big these days! Protecting the Customers Network Hardening of IT Networks Authentication/Active Directory Complex passwords Prohibiting Flash Drives Data Security Copying etc.

Quiz A device that connects two dissimilar networks translating one protocol to another protocol. For example Smart Equipment (BACnet) to a Wireless network. Gateway Router Hub Switch

Mobile connectivity and technology for field personnel who use smart phones, tablets and laptops during service calls or startup and commissioning. Commission, configure and access Smart Equipment and building automation using Wi-Fi-enabled devices such as smart phones, tablets and laptops. Mobile Access Portal Gateway

Manage your building systems remotely - set points, configure parameters and view alarms through a browser-based interface. Schedules, temperature and humidity sensors, point configuration, alarms, economizer settings and a host of other points and features. To connect to Smart Equipment are the MAP gateway, RJ-12 communication cable and a smart-phone, tablet, PC or laptop with wireless internet capabilities and internet browser capabilities. Mobile Access Portal Gateway

Mobile Access Portal Gateway Mini Web Server Device agnostic - Phone, tablet, laptop Built in Wi-Fi Access Point Pocket sized Portable or Stationary Local Display Replacement Mobile commissioning and troubleshooting Freely moving thru out facility

MAP connects through the Sensor Actuator (SA) bus Directly at the SAB RJ12 jack Through an SAB Net Sensor Provides access to ALL equipment on the Field Bus MAP connects through the Field Controller (FC) bus Directly at the SEC through an RJ12 From any other device FC port MAP Equipment Connections & Smart Equipment Controls

Connection distance The wireless connection on the MAP Gateway allows users to be up to 31 m (100 ft, line of sight) away indoors and up to 91 m (300 ft, line of sight) away outdoors while using a supported mobile device. Power may be supplied via the Sensor/Actuator (SA) bus or Field Controller (FC) Bus.

Security/SSL An SSL certificate, or secure certificate, is a file installed on a user's mobile device or computer that identifies the MAP Gateway as a trusted website. This digital certificate establishes the identity and authenticity of Johnson Controls as secure and reliable. Self-signed certificates are created locally. They mean that you vouch for the identify of your web server.

Quick Wi-Fi Connect Included with MAP Every MAP ships with unique security credentials for Wi-Fi AP and default Admin user Additional information is included on the MAP Gateway installation instructions
