OPTIRAIL WORKSHOP · OCTOBER 23, 2014 · BRUSSELS WP5: “Integration and Usability validation of models”

OPTIRAIL WORKSHOP · OCTOBER 23, 2014 · BRUSSELS Dedicated to the Design of a useful validation scheme for the conceptual framework design carried out in WP 3. A validation guideline will be provided for the implementation of the OPTIRAIL framework (full or partial), that will ensure that the key points and performances of the OPTIRAIL framework functionality and usability. The new smart and open tool will be implemented and validated by the RAMSYS platform Integration and Usability validation of models Aim: Validate the OPTIRAIL concept and its models, as well as its integrability into commercial maintenance platforms. Planning: From M19 to M28 (April 2014 to January 2015) Partners involved: MERMEC, EVOLEO, CARTIF, UGR, OSTFALIA, SINTEF OPTIRAIL – WP5

OPTIRAIL WORKSHOP · OCTOBER 23, 2014 · BRUSSELS A series of guidelines and specifications regarding validation procedures have been produced, that will ensure that the key points and performances of the OPTIRAIL framework functionality and usability. Take into account the conceptual design from WP3 Describe the software testing procedure (set of testing scenarios, tool verification) Definition of a validation procedure using RAMSYS comparison Proposition of metrics and quality measures Lab validation methodology design and metrics definition for the OPTIRAIL concept design Aim: Design of a validation methodology that assures the quality of the platform implementing the OPTIRAIL initiative Planning: From M19 to M21 (to June 2014) OPTIRAIL – WP5 – Task 5.1

OPTIRAIL WORKSHOP · OCTOBER 23, 2014 · BRUSSELS An open framework SW tool of the OPTIRAIL concept has being created A demonstration of the tool will be performed after this general presentation Integration of models into an open package software Aim: Create an open source software package based on the OPTIRAIL framework Planning: From M19 to M24 (to September 2014) OPTIRAIL – WP5 – Task 5.2

OPTIRAIL WORKSHOP · OCTOBER 23, 2014 · BRUSSELS OptiRail Open Source Tool OPTIRAIL – WP5 – Task 5.2

OPTIRAIL WORKSHOP · OCTOBER 23, 2014 · BRUSSELS OPTIRAIL conceptual design is interfaced in RAMSYS Integration of the OPTIRAIL tools in RAMSYS platform – Validation of the integration in RAMSYS platform Aim: Integration and implementation of the OPTIRAIL solution in the RAMSYS platform - Validate OPTIRAIL interfaceability with commercial maintenance platforms Planning: From M24 to M28 (to January 2015) OPTIRAIL – WP5 – Task 5.3 & 5.4

OPTIRAIL WORKSHOP · OCTOBER 23, 2014 · BRUSSELS  Asset Inventory  Measurements  Defects  Work History  Operational Data  Geographic Data  Costs  Rules/Thresholds Input  Data Auditing  Condition Forecasting  Maintenance Requests  Work Orders / Priority Lists  Key Performance / Risk Indicators  What-If-Analysis  Budgeting Output RAMSYS is a single, integrated software modular platform for the management of all the data related to railway (infrastructure and rolling stock) maintenance (e.g. Assets, Defects, Activity history, Measurements, etc.) supporting condition based & predictive maintenance and renewal planning and control Condition Based Maintenance supported by RAMSYS product

OPTIRAIL WORKSHOP · OCTOBER 23, 2014 · BRUSSELS – Off the shelf product designed to cover the maintenance needs of several railways with different standards – Can incorporate different data, rules and modeling methods configured by the users – Existing tool already used by some IMs; Proposed format is relevant and widespread in the IM policies. Condition Based Maintenance supported by RAMSYS product 16 customer in 11 countries More than 600 user licenses sold More than km of track managed More than railway vehicles managed Key facts & figures

OPTIRAIL WORKSHOP · OCTOBER 23, 2014 · BRUSSELS RAMSYS will serve as lab validation platform - a RAMSYS platform adapted to the OPTIRAIL framework has been created Action in progress to validate the OPTIRAIL tool compared with RAMSYS: – Describing the track in homogenous mode – Sharing the same data (both aligned and not aligned), at least the Optirail quality index and data used to calculate the index – Generate a list of alerts based on some Optirail defined rules. Purpose to implement at least 2 Case studies in RAMSYS: —Swedish data (LTU/TRVKT) —Spanish data (ADIF) Integration of the OPTIRAIL tools in RAMSYS platform

OPTIRAIL WORKSHOP · OCTOBER 23, 2014 · BRUSSELS Conclusions – Next steps – Guidelines and specifications regarding validation procedures have been produced. – An open framework SW tool of the OPTIRAIL concept has been created Demonstration to be done after this presentation. New functionalities are being developed to improve the tool. – Interface with the RAMSYS platform is being created – Case Studies are implemented in RAMSYS to validate the OPTIRAIL framework and software.
