WATCH OUT!!! HERE WE COME THE AKKADIANS! By: Amiah, Brooke, Audrey, Bailey

TECHNOLOGY  They spoke tow different languages and a powerful postal service.  They ruled all of Mesopotamia for over 200 year’s.  They came up with the idea for the king’s son to take the throne after the king passed away.

GOVERNMENT  King Sargon was the first king for the Akkadians he had a big and powerful army. King Naram-Sin ruled for fifty years and was successful.

SOCIAL CLASSES  People that were good leaders typically took the highest of the classes. Over the next 200 years the Akkadians continue to expand they used the Sumerians way of farming.

ART  The stones they used were called “steles.”  The Sumerians got their taste of culture of art from us, the Akkadians.  The stele was created by the Sargon’s grandson, King Naram-Sim.  One famous stone is the Victory Stele.  People carved relief on the statues.  Built temples like other city-states.

WRITING  A whole language spoken in 2800 bc and 500 ad  It was named after a Akkadian city.  There were over 200 to 400 letters.  Many Akkadians spoke 2 different languages one Akkadian one Sumerian.

RELIGION  Their Religion is very close and similar to the Sumerian's own religion.  Their religion is all based on power. So the higher up you are the more you have a say in the religion.
