Addiction: persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful (Webster)

Substance dependence is a cluster of cognitive, behavioral, and physiological symptoms indicating that the individual continues use of the substance despite substance-related problems. There is a pattern of repeated self-administration that usually results in tolerance, withdrawal, compulsive drug-taking behavior. (DSM IV)

Addiction occurs as a result of our need to worship and to satisfy the thirst of our hearts to worship. (Michael Tso, et al)

Tolerance Withdrawal Compulsive Behavior

Pain Instability Lack of Acceptance

Fragmentation Families Sexuality Control

The Challenge: Ask God if there is something or someone who has captured your heart in such a way that is supplanted the worship of God in your life?
