Outline Unseen and/or Unrecognised. The Driving for Better Business campaign. Culture Change through Awareness - Business Champions.

Driving for Work Most business managers in the United Kingdom do not realise that the single biggest risk to their businesses is the people they employ who drive for work.

Why? Each week 200 road deaths and serious injuries involve someone driving for work. –Cost to taxpayer circa £6 billion. –Does not include disruption and economic costs. Business Drivers have accident rates that are 30-40% greater than private drivers.

Why? Work-related road accidents are the biggest cause of work-based accidental death. RIDDOR does not include them and records only 250 deaths per year. Between people are killed each year in work related traffic accidents.

Reality light goods vehicle occupants were killed. 23 heavy goods vehicle occupants were killed. The implication is that the vast majority of business people involved in road deaths and serious injury were driving cars. 43 light goods vehicle occupants were killed. 23 heavy goods vehicle occupants were killed.
