Who: The City of Alexandria Wahoos What: A Tread-a-Thon & Pizza/Ice Cream Social Where: Chinquapin Pool When: Thursday July 10th, 6PM Sharp at the Diving Well Why: To Raise Funds for the Team & To Have Fun!!! How it Works: Each swimmer will be given a pledge sheet. This will be available on the website to download. Pledges to be for $1.00 a minute and up. You must bring your pledge sheet with you to the event for time authentication. Swimmers will tread in age groups and will be overseen by coaches and parent volunteers who will time, be one on one per swimmer, and enforce the following rules: -Head above water at all times. -You cannot lie on your back. Once time is recorded, swimmer will then collect funds from those who pledged and turn funds in with their pledge sheet. Prizes will be awarded for: -Longest time treaded (by age group: Under 8, 8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, 15-18) -Longest overall treader -Most funds raised by treader A lot of adults have asked to tread but we really need them to TIME the treaders! After we are done, we will serve Pizza & Ice Cream outside the pool!
