Buttercup is marry' Humperdinck in a little less than half an hour. So all we have to do is get in, break up the wedding, steal the princess, make our escape... after I kill Count Rugen.

Summing Up Sermons on Spiritual Gifts 1. There are a variety of gifts, more than what Paul lists in Scripture, and they are to be used to build up the body; 2. The gifts are to be exercised in love, not holding one gift over another, or acting like certain gifts make one more spiritual; 3. In the public assembly prophecy has more value than uninterpreted tongues because it can be understood and therefore is beneficial for all;

Summing Up Sermons on Spiritual Gifts 2 4. Though the gifts of prophecy, tongues, and a word of knowledge may or may not have been direct works of the Holy Spirit and direct revelation from the Spirit in Corinth, they are not now. The Spirit is working through human flesh and therefore there is error except in the case of Holy Scripture where the Spirit kept men from error; 5. All forms of prophecy were judge during the first century based on the OT Scriptures and apostolic doctrine. Today we would say all works proclaimed to be works of the Spirit must be judge true or false based upon the Bible, and again none of them are infallibly performed;

Summing Up Sermons on Spiritual Gifts 3 6. Tongues may be foreign languages, but to me the text says they are not. Tongues are the language of the Spirit working with our spirit and therefore to the human ear they are unrelated sounds and groans; 7. Paul is not speaking negatively against the gift of tongues, but seeks to correct the use of uninterpreted tongues in public worship. Uninterpreted tongues are not allowed in public worship, but are for private worship and are valuable for the individual Christian;

Summing Up Sermons on Spiritual Gifts 4 8. When multiple Christians in a public worship service are speaking in tongues at the same time, it undermines the unity of the body and becomes just a bunch of individual worship services alienating others who are not speaking in tongues; 9. When tongues are interpreted in public worship they are valuable for the building up of the body; 10. Tongues are a sign for the unbeliever, and prophecy is for believers and is also used by the Spirit to bring about the conversion of the unbeliever.

Hebrews 4:12 (NIV) 12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
