Introduction to PhotoShop Connie Everett ETEC 562 April 15, 2004 Paris, France Niagara Falls, Canada

The Great Travel Album Project The purpose of this project is to use the skills you have acquired in Photoshop to produce a set of photographs that you and a partner could have or would have taken if you had gone on an amazing trip around the world. Hawaii – This where I really want to be. Let’s go there together.

What You Will Need You will need photos of these amazing places and photos of yourselves. You will put the two photos together using the techniques you have learned. Each of you will complete five of ten pictures in Photoshop.

Completion of Project You should have done all of the following to your finished photos: 1.Place yourselves in the photos. 2.Use layers to adjust the levels and color balance, etc. 3.Take any extraneous people or objects out of the photos. 4.Make yourselves an appropriate size for the background into which you are inserting your digital pictures.

The places you will pretend to visit are as follows: 1.London, England 2.Paris, France 3.Rome, Italy 4.Great Pyramid, Egypt 5.Grand Canyon, US Great Wall of China

The places you will pretend to visit are as follows: 6. Niagara Falls, Canada 7. Washington, D.C. 8. Statue of Liberty, New York, US. 9. Moscow, Russia 10. Great Wall of China

Copyright Issues You will find photos of these places on many Internet sites. The problem, however, is that copyright prevents us from using many of them. Use your best search techniques to find photos that are free to use or are marked as public domain.

Completion Date When you have completed these photos, save them in a folder named “Travel Project” – your name”. You will have two weeks to complete this project. London England

Presenting….Our Trip Now it is time to put together all the things we’ve been working on. You should already have: 10 photos of place you’ve “visited” with yourselves inserted into the pictures. Grand Canyon, US.

You should already know: How to work with photos in Adobe Photoshop to make your composite photos look realistic. How to use PowerPoint to make an exciting presentation.

You Are To Do The Following: The Project we are about to begin will take two weeks. Put the finishing touches on your photos. Create a Power Point slide show to display your photos and tell about each of the stops you made on your “trip”.

Your Grade Will Be Determined as Follows: Did your presentation contain all ten required photos? Did your photos give the illusion that you and your partner were actually visiting these places? Did you describe each stop on your trip in your presentation?

Your Grade Will Be Determined as Follows Did you use appropriate backgrounds and font colors to maximize your audience’s ability to see and enjoy your show? Did you (and your partner) present your slide show to your classmates? Your classmates and I will determine how well you have done each of these things. Moscow, Russia

Have Fun By all means, have fun with this project but please don’t embarrass yourselves by failing to finish by the project deadline.

The End Thanks for your attention. I hope you enjoyed this presentation. com/webmonkey/desig n/graphics/tutorials/t utorial1.htmlhttp://hotwired.lycos. com/webmonkey/desig n/graphics/tutorials/t utorial1.html A tutorial website San Juan Puerto Rico
