Objective: –Today students will learn about Cyber Bullying. –Students will learn: What is Cyber Bullying? How it Works? Why does it happen? How to prevent it What to do if it happens to you?

Cyberbullying: is when a child, preteen or teen is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen or teen using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones.

It has to be communication between two minors or at least have been instigated by a minor against another minor Once adults become involved, it is plain and simple cyber- harassment or cyberstalking. Adult cyber-harassment or cyberstalking is NEVER called cyberbullying.

Students I urge you to be very careful. What you say How you say It Who you say it to Think before you speak Never talk out of anger Bullying is not just PHYSICAL it is verbal also Sometimes words can hurt more than someone punching you Once the impact is gone from a punch or a hit you can move on after sometime When you say harsh things to someone the tears my stop but pain sometimes never goes away.

Starts with a evil thought Then you get on the computer or cell phone and act out and release your frustrations and anger out on someone your age or around your age (18 and under). It’s NOT asking someone a question and just talking to them or chatting with them. It’s when you use technology to Harass, Curse, Threat, Embarrass, Verbally Abuse someone, Say Harsh things to some one.

WRONG ANSWER! TRY AGAIN X

That’s Right! Great Job! Move on to the next question. Once adults become involved, it is plain and simple cyber- harassment or cyberstalking. Adult cyber-harassment or cyberstalking is NEVER called cyberbullying.

I DON’T THINK THAT’S RIGHT! X

AWESOME JOB! Great Job! Move on to the next question. If it happens to you. NEVER respond tell an responsible and mature adult.

NO! NO! NO! X

It happens because people are unhappy with themselves You may have said or done something to them to offend them We sometimes don’t know how to use our communication skills We don’t know the affect it has on the other person Were not mindful of the other persons feelings We don’t know how to use kind words

TELL SOMEONE IMMEDITLY Print it out show it to your parent and counselor Save the text message Tell your parent or a responsible adult Log off immediately DON’T RESPOND DON’T TRY TO HANDLE IT YOURSELF

Be Careful what you say and how you treat your peers and and classmates Watch how you use your words Don’t handle disputes and misunderstandings over the internet or through texting, see your school counselor or parent. DON’T RESPOND! Just like you saw in the movie clip. Tell someone immediately REPORT the site that it is happening on

OOPS!!! X

WOO HOO! Great Job! Move on to the next question.

TRY IT AGAIN! X

WOO HOO! Great Job! Move on to the next question. You are correct again! Never just let it go. It only will get worst. You want to tell someone immediately, your probably not the only one that they have done this to. Fight with your actions by telling someone and NOT with your words of anger.

COME ON! THIS IS THE LAST QUESTION! X

CONGRATUALTIONS! YOU FINISHED !
