Naomi “Casts a Vision” for Ruth

“Shall I seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?”

The word ‘rest’ can be translated as ‘home’

‘Home’ can be translated as ‘rest’

The two words go hand in hand!

This is a great SECURITY that comes from marriage!

BELIEVE YOU CAN HAVE IT!

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

THE THRESHING FLOOR A Place For Refining

THE THRESHING FLOOR Boaz would be winnowing barley on the threshing floor in the evening A Place For Refining

THE THRESHING FLOOR The threshing floor was usually located on an elevated, exposed site so the breeze could help in the winnowing process

THE THRESHING FLOOR The westerly winds in Israel are a lot like the winds in southwest Florida. They begin to blow in the afternoon, and continue through sunset

THE THRESHING FLOOR The grain was separated from the husks by animal drawn sledges being pulled across the grain, which was then thrown in the air with a wooden pitchfork

THE THRESHING FLOOR The breeze helped blow away the chaff, allowing the kernels of grain to drop to the threshing floor

THE THRESHING FLOOR The men would usually remain though the night to guard the grain remaining at the threshing floor

THE INSTRUCTIONS: Ruth 3:3-4 3 Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.

The way you keep yourself, and the way you present yourself, matters!

HAVE A TEACHABLE AND WILLING SPIRIT

This is HUGE in a relationship!

The opposite is a stubborn, rebellious spirit!

This is absolutely DESTRUCTIVE in our relationship!

BE HUMBLE AND PATIENT!

It takes work and it takes time!

‘Spread Your Skirt’ doesn’t mean there was a sexual encounter – THERE WASN’T!  It was a cloak or blanket  She was lying diagonal at his feet  She made it clear why she was there  It was a cloak or blanket  She was lying diagonal at his feet  She made it clear why she was there

SPEAK GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE ONE YOU LOVE!

Ruth 3:16 And when she came to her mother in law, she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.

She told Naomi all the man had done to her!

Ruth 3:17 And she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty unto thy mother in law.

She told Naomi: “He gave me 20 days provisions”

She told Naomi: “He told me not to go home to my mother-in-law empty handed”

Ruth 3:18 Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.

KEEP HOPE ALIVE AND NEVER GIVE UP!
