In the Beginning  Taxation caused tension between the British and the colonists.  The colonists harassed the soldiers verbally and physically.

 While the townspeople were insulting the soldiers, someone yelled ‘Fire’ and the soldiers started shooting.

The Facts  The Boston Massacre happened on March 5,  Five were killed and eleven were injured.  The first to die was an African-American Chrispus Attucks.

Defending the Enemy  John Adams defended the British soldiers.  Later he became the vice president and president of the United States.

Conclusion  The Boston Massacre was an incident that sparked a rebellion by the colonists against the British.  A heavy tax initiated the tension between the British and the colonist.
