CLASS WRITING PROCESS Ms. Morbillo 3-409

Plan Plan Your Sequence and Transitions Using a Flowchart Example: Note: Your flowchart should only include very broad details that will remind you of the sequence of your written piece. Some of you can remember me asking you to organize your writing into paragraphs and to make sure you pay attention to transitions. This is where you plan all of that out before you start writing. 3 Little Pigs and A Wolf Straw, Twig and Brick Houses Wolf Was Hungry Wolf Can’t Blow Down Brick House

Write Write Your Draft

Proofread and Edit Your Draft Note: When proofreading, you should make an effort to read your article the way that your reader would, which is slowly, carefully and word for word. Don’t make the easy mistake of reading through too fast because small mistakes can sneak past you that way. Try reading out loud to yourself instead. A good strategy that you could try if you have the opportunity would be to have a parent or friend read your article to you out loud. Mistakes will be obvious when you hear someone else read them!

Check Did you find any mistakes he needed to edit? If so, go back to proofreading by clicking this button: If not, proceed to the next slide.

Submit Your Paper for Review If your paper was published, good job and go on to start your next project. If it was not published, read Mrs. Morbillo’s comments and follow her directions then proofread and edit your draft. After all of that, resubmit your paper for review.

Assignment Use this PowerPoint to guide you through the steps of writing, revising and publishing your work.
