Board of Supervisors Meeting November 8, 2011 Consider and take action on request for determination of public convenience or necessity on application for Type 20 Alcoholic Beverage License filed by Amarjit Singh and Sukhjit Kaur Virk.

License Type 20 License Type 20- Off Sale Beer & Wine. (Package Store). Authorizes the sale of beer and wine for consumption off the premises where sold. Minors are allowed on the premises.

Statistics Applicant is in Census Tract Five (5) off-sale* licenses are allowed by ABC in this census tract. Currently there are eight (8) existing off-sale licenses in this census tract. ABC has determined that undue license concentration exists in this census tract. *off-sale licenses include both Type 20 and Type 21

County policy requires three criteria be considered before determination of public convenience or necessity would be served by the issuance. 1. The issuance of a license would not tend to create a law enforcement problem and increase the level of crime activity. 2. The issuance of a license would provide a needed service to the community and that without this use there would be an inconvenience to the community; 3. The issuance of a license will have a positive impact on the local economy.
