Purpose Support local screen practitioners to get their product exported – i.e. make international sales Increase the visibility of ACT Screen Industry Following on success of Cannes and Berlin.

Lessons Learnt Cannes worked very well – Cohesive group – Good size (10 participants) – Stayed in the same place – great team building. – Good understanding of the market and opportunities – Excellent pre market pitching session in France. Berlin different market – Cold! – Spread out – We stayed in different places – Didn’t have the same group networking time.

Two Opportunities Hong Kong Film Market MIP TV Successful applicants can attend one or both

Trade Delegation Schedule 21 st March, 2015 Arrive Hong Kong (welcome dinner that night) 22 nd March Market briefing and registration 23 – 26 th March Attendance at market 27 th – 28 th March Debrief – lessons learnt, follow up strategy and any follow up meeting in Hong Kong Travel to France 1 st April, 2015 Arrival in France (welcome dinner that night) 2 nd April, Marketing briefing and registration 3 – 6 th April Attendance at market 7th April Debrief – lessons learnt, follow up strategy and any follow up meeting in Cannes 8 th April Wrap up of Trade Delegation

Application Process Each individual will fill in an application assistance/grants/trade_connect assistance/grants/trade_connect The application will be sent to ScreenACT in the first instance

Approval Process ScreenACT will form an independent industry panel An industry panel will make recommendations to ACT Government based on those applications The final decision rests with the ACT Government on how many will be funded The successful applicants will be the contracted party ScreenACT will assist with the acquittal process

Application Dates 12 th November 2014 Open for applications 1 December 2014 Applications Close 1 – 12 December Selection process (panel) 12 – 19 th December Approval of Applicant Numbers by Territory 19 – 24 th December Announce successful applicants

Some Tips ScreenACT is available to assist the applicants with their applications Make sure you review the Trade Connect guidelines assistance/grants/trade_connect assistance/grants/trade_connect A slate of projects is more attractive than a single project Be prepared to be part of the group as well as doing your own thing – this is about representing the ACT, the local screen industry as well as yourselves. You should include supporting documentation – but be judicious. If you are attending both Trade Delegations you must do a separate application for each and pro rata your travel costs.

More tips You have to pay up front and on your return and submission of the acquittal 50% of the eligible costs capped at $15,000 per company will be reimbursed. Should you have other markets you wish to attend in and you have not reached the $15,000 threshold, you can put in another application.
