What is Street Angels? Street Angels is a national initiative that was born from within the Christian communities of this country to offer a non-judgemental listening ear, and practical support to the vulnerable in the night time economy. Launched in 2005 in Halifax under the leadership of Paul and Jean Blakey
What has Street Angels discovered? A reduction of Anti-social behaviour and Violent Crime. A pleasant atmosphere in the towns of this country. 42% reduction in Halifax each Friday and Saturday evening.
How it all started? July 2008 – ‘the’ initial . November 2008 – a meeting with the Watford Town Centre Chaplaincy. March 2009 …Now Saturday 6 th March 2010 – First Year celebration
A ‘typical night’ 10.00pm - Welcome and prayer of commission 10.30pm – 12.00am – First Street Patrol 12.00am – 12.30am – Back at base for refreshments 12.30am – ? – Second Street Patrol Ending by 3.00am
