Talipot palm – This palm flowers only once in its lifetime, producing the biggest inflorescence in the flowering kingdom. The palm grows for 30 to 80 years, storing up energy and strength in its trunk to send out this massive inflorescence. After flowering and fruiting the plant will die. A flowering Talipot is truly a rare and impressive sight. I was lucky !

The Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage on Symphony Lake occasionally has free concerts on weekends. Notable performers include the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and Singapore Chinese Orchestra. I heard an excellent concert of the Symphony Orchestra ! Parents with kids, pets and baskets full of food and wine, come to the park, sit on the lawn, eat, relax and enjoy the music. It’s so pleasant !

Concert and picnic !

Frightening clouds above us while listening to the concert in the Park. The organizers gave us raincoats in case the rainstorm started! But we were lucky ! No rain and wonderful concert !
