BEGINNING OF THE HENDERSON CHURCH OF CHRIST

WHAT OTHERS HAVE SAID

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

MUSIC AUTHORIZE D

Musical instruments in celebrating the praises of God would be no more suitable than the burning of incense, the lighting of lamps, and the restoration of the other shadows of the law.

JOHN WESLEY

JOHN WESLEY I have no opposition to the organ in our chapel provided it is neither seen nor heard.

ADAM CLARKE

ADAM CLARKE Music, as a science, I esteem and admire; but instruments of music in the house of God I abominate and abhor.

Metropolitan Tabernacle Baptist Church in London, England Charles H. Spurgeon

I would as soon pray to God with machinery as to sing to God with machinery. Charles H. Spurgeon

“PLAY ON MISS BERTHA”

MISS BERTHA Mrs. Bertha Mason Fuller, aged 83, of 1818 Summit Avenue, a retired minister and missionary for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) died Tuesday at a Little Rock hospital.
