 Cyber stalking is harassing people by threatening, monitoring, stealing someone’s identity theft, etc.

 Cyber stalkers find their victims through social networking sites, message boards, chat rooms, and through electronic mail.  If a stalker gets personal information they might try to take it from the internet to the real world.

 Majority cases are men cyber stalking women.  In many cases, the victim and the stalker had a prior relationship.  Cyber stalking under 18 is a federal crime.

 “Over 20,000 cases of cyber stalking are being reported each year.”  At an estimation there are as many as 500,000 online victims each year.

 “Kacie Rene Woody was thirteen when she met an on-line predator from California in an Internet chat room.”

 One month after them meeting on the internet David Fuller kidnapped Woody from her home.

 Fuller committed suicide before he could be arrested and Kacie was sexually assaulted, she was dead from a gunshot wound.

 “The average duration of stalking is nearly two years and even longer if the stalking involves intimate partners.”

 Cyber Stalking is an easy and cheap way to locate women who has moved away or hid from their abuser.

 Over 18 million teenagers are on the internet at one time, 25% are on blog and space sites.

 The stalker will find friends/family members to find out their victims personal info.-photos, addresses, employment information.

 If you are under 18 punished up to five years in prison and fined up to $250,000.

 The victims of cyber stalking are over 90% of women.  There are more men victims in the hate/revenge category of stalking.

 78% of stalkers approach a person in more than one way  “Eighty-seven percent of stalkers are men.”(Donovan)

 60% of male victims are stalked by other men.  62% of cyber stalking victims are women; ages 18-24
