Characters Jane Eyre- The Main Character Edward Rochester- Jane’s Employer St. John Rivers- Helps Jane thought the book Mrs. Reed- Jane’s cruel aunt Bessie Lee- The maid Georgina and Eliza Reed- Jane’s mean cousins Helen Burns- James Best Friend

Protagonist The Protagonist in my book is Jane Eyre. She is the narrator of the book as well as the Main character. She is the character who has strong beliefs and sticks to them in moments of struggle. She is a strong believer of social inequality.

Antagonist There are many people in this book who want to bring The main character Jane down, and they don’t want her to succeed. Some of these characters would be Aunt Reed, Mr. Brocklehurst, Mr. Rochester and St. John Rivers, all in different ways.

Favorite Character My favorite Character would be Jane Eyre because she has such a passion for life even when everything in her own life is not as ideal as she would like it. She struggles with many things in her own life such as, not enough gender or social equality. She was left homeless at a young age, and also struggles thought the book of knowing what she really wants.

Least Favorite Character There are many characters in this book that you end up not liking because of the way they treat poor Jane. The few characters that stick out to me is Aunt reed and her daughters, they are I think In a way some what jealous of Jane so they treat her cruel and Unfairly.

Exposition I think the exposition is when Jane is sent to Logwood because it causes more drama and problems. For instance there is not enough money to keep all of these people in the orphanage and be able to feed and clothe all of them. She also finds a friend Helen. I think this is where a lot of her problems defiantly begin though. This is a great leading into the rising action.

Climax I would say thought the book there are many mini climax’s. The one that I think makes the most impact on the book that everything leads up to would be when Jane calls of the wedding, due to Rochester already being married. Another Climax I think is when Jane gets her second marriage proposal.

Rising Action I would for sure have to say that the rising action begins when Jane becomes a governor for Adele. Her boss is a very secretive man named Rochester, whom she falls in love with. He brings home another woman, and is very surprised when he proposes to her and not Blance ( the other woman)

Falling Action Jane ends up marrying Rochester after hearing his name, she knows that he is the one for her and keeps finding herself devoted to him. She goes to find him and they get married.

Resolution Jane and Rochester marry with having no one know. Jane later writes letters to everyone explaining. They have a child later on. Jane writes that this is a story written ten years ago.

Setting This book takes place in the early 19 th century, there are many different places where they are, but the main places are all in England.

Themes Themes of the book that really stood out are Love Social Class Religion Gender

Rating of Book Out of ten I would give the rating on the book probably a 8. I would give it this because I think it was a really good read and had a lot of good concepts, but I also felt that it was a hard read. I would probably recommend this book to anyone who likes romance and drama!

Social Issue The social issue I have chosen to do my report on is… Social Segregation in relation to Economic Inequality and poverty.

What is Poverty?? is a condition in which a person or community is deprived of, or lacks the essentials for a minimum standard of well- being and life....

Children and Poverty 2.2 million kids in the world 1 million are in poverty 640 million are without shelter 400 million are without safe sanitary water 270 million have no access to health services 15 million children are orphaned each year due to HIV/AIDS

Stats Almost Half the world lives on $2.50 a day According to uniceff 25,00 kids die a day from poverty 1.6 billion people live without electricity

Things to think about…… IF you have a refrigerator, clothes on your back, and a roof over your head, your richer than 75% of this world

Continued… If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish you are among the top 8% percent of the worlds wealthiest people

If you woke up this morning with more wealth than illness you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.
