Harrison seven feet tall 14 years old wearing a multitude of handicaps makes a daring escape from the jail breaks into the TV station gets rid of his handicaps wants to take over the world and be the emperor is shot by the Handicapper General

How has society changed by 2081? Everyone is expected to be everyone else. Government laws force those that are more gifted to wear handicaps. No one can share true feelings. Indeed, their handicap makes it hard for them to think about anything in detail for a long time. ( a society that has been equalized to the point that the lives of the characters are dull, uninteresting, and highly regulated. )

George’s beliefs about equality: dark ages / competition / obeying the laws /handicaps

Handicaps he is wearing: a pair of ear phones thick glasses with wavy lenses (giving him headaches) a red rubber ball clown nose black caps on his teeth (to make him ugly) 300 pounds of scrap metal

Diana Moon Glampers the Handicapper General ultimate law enforcer brutal/relentless/cruel oppressive regime (practices that produce oppression)

Science fiction A comment on present day society by examining an imaged future society in which competition and individuality have been eliminated – all individual differences are eliminated so that everyone is mediocre.
