“We are going out to bring smiles to their faces, to hold their hands, to wash their feet in scented water, to put brand new bed linen beneath their wounds and to dress them in personal bed wear that we unpack from wrappers in their presence.” Transition Year Students

 While one crew of students is attending to patient’s personal needs, another crew will be tearing 40 year old tiles off bathroom walls and floors, and with the professional help of an Irish builder, they will be giving the residents a beautiful new bathroom with a walk in shower, suitable for double amputees.  Paint brushes await the students to re-decorate their community rooms. They are assured that there is an endless supply of buckets of water, detergents and scrubbing materials to clean down walls, doors, windows and floors.  The students have seven days of the most rewarding work imaginable ahead of them, and they are looking forward to every minute of the challenges ahead.
