Wimauma Charity Event December 2, 2014 Presented by The Frozen Refrigerated Foods of Central Florida Prepared by board member: Ginger Robbins – Tyson Foods

What is the Wimauma Event: We ask volunteers, vendors, clients to embrace the opportunity to bring Holiday Spirit to Wimauma Elementary. By helping to sponsor this unique event, we are providing these students with school supplies and treats. At Wimauma Elementary, 93% of students come from low income families, 63% of students are learning to speak and understand English, and 15% of students are struggling to overcome a disability. We as volunteers, put together an event that is like going shopping for these children. They walk an assembly line and fill their bags with School Supplies, toothpaste, toothbrushes, socks, milk, candy, etc… We give them all the supplies they need to enjoy a wonderful Christmas and also helping out the families with some school supplies, as most of these children will not see get a Christmas. We also create goodie bags for the 100 dedicated teachers and aides who donate their time and personal resources in order to achieve success in the classroom.

This event starts out with Santa coming in on the local fire engine where all the Children stand outside to witness the event With BIG smiles on their faces. I even took the time to talk to Santa once my station Was set and ready to go The Staff meets with Santa while all the Goodies are set up.

Volunteers patiently await for the Festivities to begin Our Own Melanie Staples Customer Category Manager Publix I even recruited my Husband (Mark) to Help out

Each Child gets a photo with Santa upon arriving at our event. The smaller Children (Head start, Kindergarten and ESE) have individual pictures taken. Each Child gets a picture to take home to their families Santa event takes the time to have some fun with the kids as they line up to get their lunches.

Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers that took time out of their busy schedules to help give the gift of Christmas to some very deserving Children.
