WHAT IS DIVERSITY?  What are some things that everybody has the same of? -Arms, Legs -Eyes -Noses  What are some things that are different about people? -Skin, hair, eye color -Body size, how tall we are -Our DNA (Your very own fingerprint!)  But what’s the point??? -We are ALL unique in our own ways!

 Diversity is not just about the way that our bodies look  What else do you think it could be? -Religions -The language we speak -What we want to be when we grow up! -The kind of house that we live in -Our cultures -Our nationality!  All you have to do to find diversity is look around the classroom! Or your neighborhood! Or our school! WHAT DOES DIVERSITY LOOK LIKE?

Talk about these questions together:  Where did you see differences between you and your classmates?  Where did you see similarities between you and your classmates?  Let’s share! As a class: What do you guys and gals think of this picture?!

 Think about your very own brothers, sisters, cousins, friends…(or anyone else you know)  Do you think that you and your family or friends look exactly alike?  Do you sound exactly alike?  Do you like all of the same things?  You guys may be similar, but aren’t you different too?! DIVERSITY OUTSIDE OUR CLASSROOM

When people are diverse: Everything is interesting We get to learn new things The world has all kinds of exciting differences And best of all, Nobody is boring!
