1. Look up the definition of the following terms and record them in your Daily File. Today’s date is Mon, 5/13  Oracle  Prophecy 2. Make a prediction on how these two terms might apply to “Hercules: The Twelve Labors”?

 Take a few minutes to look through this book.  What do we need to know about reading graphic novels? How would you explain this to someone who has never read one?  Turn to page 46 to review the vocabulary words.

 Read pages 1 – Pause. Briefly explain why Hercules has to do the Twelve Labors? (Who is the driving force behind making him do them? Why is this god/goddess/king making him do them?) 2. Number 1-12 within this question. As you read, briefly summarize each of the Labors that you read about.

Partner 1 = summarize 2 nd labor. Partner 2 = summarize 3 rd labor. Partner 3 = summarize 4 th labor. Partner 4 = summarize 5 th labor. Partner 5 = summarize 6 th labor.

 Continue summarizing each labor on your own.  Be ready to share your ideas with others.

1. Which of the Twelve Labors do you think would be the hardest to complete? Why? 1. Which of the Twelve Labors do you think would be the easiest to complete? Why? 1. What would be a task that YOU would have Hercules do for you? Explain with details.

What do you think was Hercules’ sneakiest / smartest move in throughout his tasks? 1. Who has the most power in this story? 1. Look up the definition of the word “hero.” For what reasons should Hercules be considered a hero? 1. What is one theme or life lesson you can see in this myth? Prove your answer.
