ORION THE HUNTER WPHS SCIENCE

Introduction I am Matt Smith I am doing a presentation on Orion The Hunter.

What is the topic that you decided to do your presentation on? I decided to do my presentation on the constellation Orion.

What is a constellation? A constellation is a group or cluster of stars that form a shape of an object. Some examples of constellations are Orion The Hunter, Virgo the Virgin, and Ursa Major The greater Bear. The ancient people of Egypt used the constellations to tell when the Nile would flood.

WHAT HAPPENED TO ORION THAT NOW WE CAN ONLY SEE HIM IN THE NIGHT SKY? It might have been the Earth Goddess herself who sent the deadly scorpion to Orion. Or possibly Apollo, concerned that Orion had designs on his sister, Artemis. Thus Apollo may have told the Earth Goddess of Orion's boast. In any case, it seems clear that it was the Earth Goddess who sent the scorpion on its mission. It might be just because he is the son of the sea god, Poseidon.

The Fatal Scorpion Myth has it that Orion was killed by the sting of a Scorpion. The Scorpion is identified with the constellation of Scorpius, halfway around the sky from Orion. Some say that the Scorpion was sent by the Gaia the Goddess of the Earth; others say it was Artemis, the Goddess of the Hunt, who sent the Scorpion to kill Orion, because Orion had dared to hunt down all the animals of the earth. Others say that Orion had attempted to force himself on Artemis and that it was because of his unwanted attentions that Artemis sent the Scorpion after him. But as the Scorpion rises in the east, Orion sets, indicating the victory of the Scorpion over the Hunter.

Real Life IN REAL LIFE ORION IS JUST A GROUP OR CLUSTER OF STARS CALLED A CONSTELLATION.

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF ALL THIS? THE MEANING OF ALL THIS IS TO TEACH YOU ABOUT WHAT A CONSTELLATION IS. Some things I would like you to remember is that constellations are not real they are just a group or cluster of stars that were named by the early greeks or ramans.
