Matthew 6:1-4 1 "Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.

Matthew 6:1-4 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

善事 /acts of righteousness 6:1-4 “ 給與 /giving”. 6:5-15 “ 禱告 /prayer”. 6:16-18 “ 禁食 /fasting”. “ 天父在暗中查看, 必然報答你 /Your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matt 6:4, 6, 18).

Is it good to talk about reward? 17 "'Well done, my good servant!' his master replied. 'Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.' 【 Luke 19:17 】 19 "His master answered, 'You take charge of five cities.' 【 Luke 19:19 】

Matthew 6:1, evlehmosu,nh = giving alms (KJV), 給與 / 施捨 = acts of righteousness (NIV), 善行.

I. Temporary Reward 2 "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 【 Matt 6:2 】

II. Eternal Reward 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 【 Matt 6:3~4 】

Luke’s Closet 11 約翰回答說：有兩件衣裳的，就分給那沒 有的；有食物的，也當這樣行。【路 3:11 】 11 John answered, "The man with two tunics should share with him who has none, and the one who has food should do the same." 【 Luke 3:11 】

III. Give to God will get Eternal Reward. A. Give yourselves to God and then to others.

1 And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. 2 Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. 5 And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God's will. 【 2Cor 8:1~5 】

III. Give to God will get Eternal Reward. B. Give yourselves entirely to God and not to others.

6 While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper, 7 a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table. 8 When the disciples saw this, they were indignant. "Why this waste?" they asked. 9 "This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor.“ 【 Matt 26:6~9 】

10 Aware of this, Jesus said to them, "Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me. 11 The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me. 12 When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. 13 I tell you the truth, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her." 【 Matt 26:10~13 】

III. Give to God will get Eternal Reward. C. Give entirely to God, receive God’s blessings 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. 【 Mal 3:10 】

Conclusion 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. 【 Eph 2:8~10 】
