LEADERS Yiannis Babalis

Theodoros Kolokotronis Certainly, there are many great leaders in the world but for me the best and the most important leader is Theodoros Kolokotronis.

Who is who? Theodoros Kolokotronis was born in 1790 in Messinia. It’s so difficult to describe a man who was so many different things. He was a rebel, a general, a seaman and a politician.

Who is who? From the age of fifteen he joined the rebel army in Pelopponisos and soon he became one of the most capable and intelligent generals of Greece.

The Tactic of a Leader He was the leading figure in the fight to free Greece from the Turkish oppressors. Because of his bravery and skills in strategic planning and military tactics he managed to win many major battles against the Turks. Even though the Turkish army was huge compared to the Greek forces, Kolokotronis’ brilliant tactics lead to many victories. Because of those victories he soon became the chief general of all Pelopponisian troops.

Kolokotronis as a politician When Greece was finally liberated Kolokotronis got a very important position in the government. Even as a politician he kept fighting and doing his best for his country.

Conclusion In a dark and difficult period for Greece Kolokotronis was a leader, a fighter and a visionary. A true inspiration for every Greek person. That is why I think he is one of the greatest leaders who ever lived.

Comments Is everybody born to be a leader? I think that some people are born to be a leader and some others are not. Some are not as clever or as intelligent as others. Some have more skills and more abilities. For example Theodoros Kolokotronis was a great leader compared with other people at his time. He had a special personality.

Comments Is everybody born to be a leader? I also want to be a leader but it is not so easy as you think. I am only twelve years old and it is very difficult to believe something like that at my age. I can not encourage others and I can’t play this role of a leader because only experts can take this place. But I would like to be a leader because I like to be responsible for everything I do.

Thank you for your attention!!!
