Witnessing to God’s Wonders From His Word to the World! 2015 But you will receive power when the holy spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses… - Jesus

This year we will be celebrating the Biblical witnesses of God’s wonders. Who is your Bible hero?

January: WITNESS 1: JOSHUA’S JOURNAL From the wilderness through the promised land, Joshua witnesses to the wonders of God.

Main Scriptures: The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the L ORD is pleased with us, He will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Only do not rebel against the L ORD. And do not be afraid of the people of the land because we will devour them. Their protection is gone but the L ORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them. Numbers 14:5-9 Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful….Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the L ORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1: 1-9 Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the L ORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1: 1-9 Joshua got up early the next morning and the priests took up the ark of the L ORD. The seven priests carrying the seven trumpets went forward, marching before the ark of the L ORD and blowing the trumpets. The armed men went ahead of them and the rear guard followed the ark of the L ORD, while the trumpets kept sounding. So on the second day they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. They did this for six days. On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times. The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the L ORD has given you the city! The city and all that is in it are to be devoted to the L ORD.…When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. Joshua 6: Joshua 6: “Now fear the L ORD and serve Him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the L ORD. But if serving the L ORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the L ORD.” Joshua 24: Joshua 24: 14-15

Supporting Scriptures: What is impossible with men is possible with God. Luke 18:27 I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15: 5 I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 The One who calls you is faithful and He will do it. I Thessalonians 5:24

Being A Witness to God’s Power God calls us to be a part of great things, then empowers us to accomplish them.

God must be pleased !

Numbers 14: 5-9 – Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown in front of the whole Israelite assembly gathered there. 6 Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes 7 and said to the entire Israelite assembly, “The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. 8 If the L ORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. 9 Only do not rebel against the L ORD. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Their protection is gone, but the L ORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them.” Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the L ORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” John 5:30 – By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me. Colossians 3:17 – And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Am I honoring Him and living for God?

God tells me that He will be with us.

Numbers 14:5-9 –Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown in front of the whole Israelite assembly gathered there. Do not be afraid of them. Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the L ORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Matthew 1:23 – The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel”(which means “God with us”). Romans 8:31; – What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? … 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If I feel apart from God, who moved?

God wants to, and will lead if I let Him.

Numbers 14:5-9 –Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown in front of the whole Israelite assembly gathered there. Do not be afraid of them.” Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the L ORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. John 10:3 – The gatekeeper opens the gate for Him, and the sheep listen to His voice. He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out. I Thessalonians 5:24 – The one who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.

Ok, let’s go, but You (God) go first!

We must have a vision from God.

Numbers 14:5-9 –Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown in front of the whole Israelite assembly gathered there. Do not be afraid of them.” Proverbs 29:18 – Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction. Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the L ORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. I Chronicles 4:10 – Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let Your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. Acts 2:17; 26:19 – In the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. …So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven.

What is my / our Vision from God?

We will not rebel and not be afraid.

Numbers 14:5-9 –Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown in front of the whole Israelite assembly gathered there. Do not be afraid of them.” Proverbs 2:7-8 – He holds success in store for the upright, He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, 8 for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones. Luke 8:25 – “Where is your faith?” He asked His disciples. Luke 18:8 – I tell you, He will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” I Peter 3:13-15 – Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason f or the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

Obedient faithful, not rebellious fearful.

Let’s Go With God ! But if serving the L ORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, will serve the Lord.
