Good readers make summaries as they read. See how well you can summarize in this text, when the Reading Tutor asks you. iii. Model the strategy: I am going to take a moment to summarize. So far the text has told us about two senses: seeing and hearing. We use our eyes to see and our ears to hear. iv. Scaffold the strategy: Now we can add something to the summary I did earlier. Think about the two senses you read about after seeing and hearing. What do you think the fifth sense is? Answer out loud and click Go. 1.
