The tear of grief is a buliding in New York. It is lined up with the Statue of Liberty and the World trade center.
It was designed by an Russian artist whose name is Zurab Tsereteli

It is 33m high ( how high is it ?) It weighs 175 tons ( how much does it weigh?) It was dedicated on Sept 11, 2006, 5 years after the terrorists’attack.
On the wall behind the monument a portrait of Vladimir Putine was painted. The Tear of Grief is a gift from Vladimir Putine to the USA (The Tear of Grief was given to the USA by Vladimir Putine)

The names of the 3,000 victims were etched in the 11-sided base which is made of granite.

The Monument was cast in St. Petersburg, Russia, where it was assembled into four large pieces plus the tear. These five large pieces were shipped to Bayonne, New Jersey, where they arrived in August 2005.

The tear is 12m long (how long is the Tear?) It weighs 4 tons ( how much does it weigh?) It is made of stainless steel which is plated with nickel.

The foundations
The foundations were dug in 2004
Walkway - stones
The walkway which leads to the Tear of grief is made of stones. Some messages/inscriptions were etched in the stones in memory of the victims.

The Tear of Grief was dedicated by Bill Clinton on Sept 11, Zurab Tseretli was invited / attended the ceremony.
Puntine ‘s and George W. Bush’s portraits were painted on the wall as they both fought terrorism.
