 Journey Care  Started in 1984  Committed to care: Life-death  Elizabeth Pannier created Journey Care

 Ages from 6-13  For kids who’ve lost a loved one  No pay for campers: covered by donations  Are able to express grief

 Helping children and adults cope with the loss of a loved one  The only cure to grief: avoid shutting yourself out  Grief is a deep sorrow often caused by a loved one  About 1.2 million children lose their parents before age 15 causing grief

 Camp Courage is a camp for kids and adults  Supporting these people with the grief from the loss of a loved one  Camp Courage makes going through grief a little easier for kids

 Expressing their feeling through art  Writing and performing their own song to express themselves  Working with new friends on team-building activities  Answering questions to a doctor for the loss of a loved one for relief  Swimming in the indoor pool to cool off  Going canoeing for fun  And having a special family tribute for memories

 This year was their 20 th anniversary  They have professionally trained Journey care counselors  Providing leadership at Camp Courage  Presented by Hospice and Palliative care at Northeastern Ill.

 Donations allow kids to attend camp with no cost  They are also used for materials  These include: paint, quilt fabric, t-shirts, invitations, camp ground fees, and transportation

I couldn’t imagine loosing a loved one, and I was happy to see there was a camp that provided care for kids with grief. This brought my attention, and I was very excited when I heard that this camp agreed on being my SSP.

 I appreciated you listening and I hope you enjoyed!   Wendy Moylan phone#:  Journeycare.org
