The Simple Past Tense The Simple Past Tense is used: To express an action wholly completed in the past Ex. I performed Isha prayers last evening. I went to Cusco last weekend. Jessica arrived at our house yesterday.

Simple Past Tense A verb is turned into past by adding (d or ed) at the end of the infinitive Ex. He arrived yesterday. She cooked food last night. There are some irregular verbs Ex. I (write) wrote a letter last week. I (buy) bought a car last year I (read) read a book yesterday Sell- sold , drive-drove, go-went, meet-met, give-gave, get-got Take-took, forget-forgot, come-came
